The Jean McClung Middle School project is under construction. Planned improvements include exterior upgrades, a new secure entry, HVAC replacement, and interior renovations to support specialized programs such as science, CTE, fine arts, PE, and special education.
The 2nd level classroom and science lab wing is progressing in multiple phases, each currently at different stages. Some rooms have been renovated and turned over for use. Other rooms are preparing for turnover as the remaining rooms begin renovation. Outdoors, soil stabilization for the chiller pads has begun to support of the upgraded cooling system.
The initial phase of the 2nd level classroom renovations is complete, and teachers have begun moving back into the finished spaces. Renovations are now underway in the next section, with the new flooring and wall finishes being installed. Plumbing and site work are in progress to support and upgrade cooling system.
Cafeteria and Main Corridor finishes are complete on the 1st level. Additionally, classroom and corridor flooring replacement has begun on the 2nd level and chiller pad prep and piping is underway at the exterior.
Phase 1B1 and 1B2 are complete. CTE lab is complete, awaiting final inspection for occupancy. Paint and flooring is ongoing in the cafeteria and corridors. Phase 1A1 demo and flooring scheduled for the holiday break.
PROCEDEO is the Owner’s Representative for the 2021 FWISD Bond that was approved by Fort Worth voters in November of 2021.
